The BiTS Workshop is the world’s premier workshop dedicated to providing a forum for the latest information about burn-in and test tooling, and related fields. Celebrating its 15th Annivesary, The 2014 BiTS Workshop takes place March 9-12, 2014, in Mesa, AZ.
Building on last year’s Talking Points topic, Interconnectology, the committee has invited Simon McElrea, President of Invensas Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tessera Technology, to deliver the keynote address. Invensas has branded itself as “The Interconnectology company” to help foster the idea that the future of computing lies in an interconnected supply chain and interconnect technologies as a value-add to the end product. This concept resonated with the BiTS test community last year, so Simon was asked to provide the back-story and big picture of how the concept of interconnectology will enable the future of computing.
After a one-year hiatus, Prismark Partners’ Brandon Prior returns as distinguished speaker to provide an overview of the global packaging market, with a focus on emerging and fast growth package solutions. This year’s Tutorial and Tech Talk have been designed to fit hand-in-glove. Peter Ehlig, a Texas Instruments Fellow teaches this year’s Tutorial. In “Test 101: A Holistic View of Test,” Ehlig looks at test from the perspective of all its stakeholders, and will lead a discussion on how test works or doesn’t work. The Tutorial dovetails with this year’s TechTalk, led by Jeffrey L. Roehr of Texas Instruments. Roehr will address “The Most Common Mistakes in Test” made by product and test engineers during test program development, characterization, and limit setting, and how to avoid them.
Determined not to take things too seriously, the BiTS committee always tries to deliver information with a twist. Last year, it was under the guise of a ‘talk show’. This year, BiTS premiere sponsors have been invited to participate in the ultimate workshop game show. “BiTS Feud” puts two socket companies head-to-head in a face-off for who knows the most about packaging trends, as determined by the BiTS Workshop membership. The BiTS Feud will be hosted by Françoise von Trapp, Queen of 3D, 3D InCites. It is co-sponsored by 3D InCites and Impress Labs. This one will be sure to keep you on the edge of your seats!
All of this, plus two poster sessions, socket market updates, lots of new products to check out in the Expo, and the highlight of the week, Celebrando BiTS – a 15 Anos!, will be sure to keep attendees busy. This year’s party will be a fiesta like no other, complete with authentic Mexican cuisine, frosty margaritas and cerveza, sombreros and a Mariachi band.
