As 3D InCites approaches its 4th birthday, the time has come for us to move out of InfoNeedle into our very own home. It’s been a great four years living on the InfoNeedle platform, and I’m forever indebted to Robert Petrossian and his team for their ongoing support and guidance. But just as we all grow out of our first apartment and become homeowners, 3D InCites is all grown up and ready to stand on its own.

The Impress Labs web development team has been hard at work with the site redesign, and importing all the site content (over 600 3DIC-inspired posts to date!) to our new space. We’re excited about the new capabilities to make the site a full community, with expanded social media features that allow for interaction among subscribers. We’re also hoping to inspire more members to become regular content contributors.  In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be creating forums and encouraging your participation.

If you’re currently a registered member on 3D InCites, be on the lookout for an auto-generated email from WordPress providing a new User Name and Password. You have the option of logging in with these credentials, (and  promply changing your password upon initial login); however it is now also possible to login with your LinkedIn credentials. (Same thing goes for Facebook or Twitter users). I recommend using your LinkedIn credentials: it’s one less password to forget, and pulling your professional contributions into the world’s largest professional network is never a bad thing. It also makes it easier for colleagues and new friends to find and connect with you; and isn’t that what this community is all about?

For those of you who are regular readers but have never subscribed, I encourage you to take the leap. Subscribing gives you the ability to comment, post status updates that appear on your profile and in the community activity pages, participate in forums, guest blog, post events and press releases for your company, and receive regular updates and eNewsletters. (And the more you participate on behalf of your company, the higher your company’s news will rank on 3D InCites.) You’ll also want to bookmark our new home; simply www.3dincites.com.

The entire team is really excited about this next phase for 3D InCites, and we look forward to your ongoing participation.   ~ F.v.T
