Brewer Science remains the first and only company in the semiconductor industry with Zero Waste to Landfill Certification
Brewer Science, a global technology leader, proudly announced that it has earned Zero Waste to Landfill Certification for the tenth consecutive year. This recognition underscores Brewer Science’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and the responsible management of end-of-life materials, ensuring that 100% of waste leaving its facilities is diverted from landfills through GreenCircle Certified’s rigorous standards.
Brewer Science remains the first and only company in the semiconductor and microelectronics industry to achieve Zero Waste to Landfill Certification, accredited through GreenCircle Certified. GreenCircle certifies organizations for Zero Waste to Landfill status when all waste leaving a facility is redirected through approved diversion methods such as source reduction, recycling, reuse, or composting. This certification is widely regarded as one of the most effective ways for manufacturers to demonstrate genuine environmental responsibility.
In addition, GreenCircle Certified’s Zero Waste to Landfill certification is accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). ANAB, part of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), is a globally recognized accreditation body that ensures GreenCircle’s certification process adheres to the highest industry standards for quality and reliability. This accreditation reinforces the integrity of Brewer Science’s Zero Waste to Landfill Certification. More information on GreenCircle’s ANAB accreditation can be found on their website.
Sustainability continues to be a key priority for Brewer Science, with ambitious goals that include:
- Achieving a net zero carbon footprint by 2050
- Reducing Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions by 80% from the 2018 baseline by 2030
- Diverting over 75% of hazardous waste volume to reuse applications annually
- Attaining 100% renewable energy consumption each year
Beyond internal sustainability initiatives, Brewer Science is actively engaged in educating and collaborating with stakeholders to drive meaningful environmental progress across the industry. The company’s Sustainability Outreach Program bridges gaps in sustainability efforts by fostering collaboration with employees, suppliers, customers, and community organizations.
“Sustainability is more than a company initiative—it’s a collective effort. Through our Sustainability Outreach Program, we aim to align with our partners to implement impactful projects that contribute to a net positive environmental outcome,” said Matthew Beard, Executive Director, Strategic Planning, Management Systems, and Sustainability at Brewer Science.
Brewer Science features its Sustainability Outreach Program as part of a comprehensive evaluation of its environmental and social impact areas in its annual Impact Report, available on the Going Green page of their website.
