Leoben, October 5, 2023 – The Styria-based technology group is economically successful in challenging times and has an excellent reputation as an employer. This has been confirmed by the Reputation Report 2023, which was drawn up by the Austrian Institute for Management and Economic Research (IMWF Austria) and the trade magazine “Industriemagazin”.
The Reputation Report examines the image of Austria’s 439 largest industrial businesses in digital public opinion. As the IMWF explains, the study is based on all public statements about companies that are available online – in journalistic news and trade media, on social media, in forums, blogs and on websites of associations. Using artificial intelligence, nearly 200,000 text fragments were evaluated by topic and regarding their tonality, measuring the positive, neutral or negative linguistic context. In addition, all statements were weighted according to the reach of the respective media, websites or users, the IMWF explains.
Top marks for management, employer and innovation
With top marks in the categories management, employer and innovation, the Styrian IC substrate and printed circuit board manufacturer AT&S won the overall ranking of 439 Austrian industry brands operating in the B2B sector (“business to business”). The group is a globally leading supplier of leading-edge interconnect technologies. Products made by AT&S are used in all areas of life – ranging from mobile phones, computers, vehicles and industrial robots to medical technology, aircraft and satellites. AT&S technologies are also applied in high-performance computers and artificial intelligence. Moreover, AT&S products make a significant contribution to the green transformation, as they provide new ways to increase efficiency and save energy.
Stellar rise: from 10th place to 1st place
After reaching 10th place in the Reputation Report last year, AT&S rose to the top of the ranking this year with record revenues in the past financial year, high investments in its locations and continued global expansion. However, the key to the highest reputation in Austria is not only economic performance – AT&S also scores as an employer: “The creation of more than 700 new jobs, the successful presentation of the positive working climate in an employer branding campaign and the support of international employees leave an extremely positive impression,” the IMWF and Industriemagazin evaluation states. In terms of sustainability, the company’s innovative recycling system is mentioned, among other things.
“An excellent national reputation is essential, also for a globally operating tech company such as AT&S,” says Gerald Reischl, VP Corporate Communications at AT&S. “Taking first place in a reputation ranking is not only a recognition of the communications, investor relations and public affairs work, but can also make every single employee in the company very proud.”
